Meet Darren
Born and raised in Michigan, but living in Chicago for many years, Darren now calls Southwest Michigan his home now.
After graduating from high school, Darren proceeded to walk on to the University Of Michigan Football Team. Not only did he earn a scholarship after 2 years, but he was also was a pivotal member of the 1997 National Championship Team that won the Rose Bowl. Over his 5 years on the team and while playing with future legends such as Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady and Heisman Trophy Winner Charles Woodson, he learned what it takes to perform at an elite level.
While a career ending back injury derailed his NFL plans, his next adventure was moving to Chicago where he was a bond trader at the Chicago Board Of Trade for over 12 years. However, after living in the city and now raising 2 kids there (Hailey and Jake) with his wife (Tori), they were ready for a change. Having a cottage in Sister Lakes in Southwest Michigan, which was halfway between Chicago and their hometown of Flint, helped the cause.
After much thought and loving everything about lake and beach town living, they chose West Michigan as their final destination. Darren now considers both Sister Lakes and Grand Haven home and currently operates offices in both locations. With over 7 years experience and a Managing Broker License, Darren is eager to use to his energy and passion for lake and beach town living in these communities to help you find the perfect home for your family.
